A motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries in a traffic accident in Gozo on Tuesday morning.

Police said in a statement that they were advised of a traffic accident in Triq it-Tessuti in Xewkija at around 9:40am on Tuesday.

Preliminary investigations showed that a crash had occurred between a Yamaha 250 being ridden by a 63-year-old man from Xaghra and a Mistubishi Pajero being driven by a 66-year-old man from Sannat.

The motorcyclist was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Simone Grech is leading a magisterial inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
