Three injured in Rabat traffic accident

Three people were injured in a traffic accident in Rabat on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that it was informed of a traffic crash at around 12pm on Tuesday in Triq tat-Tabija in Rabat.

Preliminary investigations showed that there had been an incident between a Toyota Aygo being driven by a 34-year-old woman from Zebbug and a Toyota Townace which was being driven by a 63-year-old man from Rabat.

Another man, aged 69 and also from Rabat, was a passenger in the Townace.

All three of them were given treatment on site and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.  The 63-year-old was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the other two persons involved in the accident suffered light injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
