A man was grievously hurt in a fight that broke out at Ghadira Bay, Mellieha, on Wednesday evening.

In the incident, which took place at around 8.30pm, a 28-year-old man from Nepal, who resides in Mellieha, was involved in an argument with another man.

A stone is understood to have been used to injure the Nepali man.

The other person fled the scene, the police said.

The Nepalese was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
