A woman was grievously injured after she was hit by a car in Gozo on Wednesday.

The driver of the car kept on going, the police said in a statement.

The accident took place in Independence Square, Victoria, at 5.30pm.

The woman – no details were given by the police – was taken to Gozo Hospital for treatment.
