Parliamentary Speaker Anglu Farrugia said that the Public Accounts Committee needs a clear push to come to consensus on the list of witnesses summoned before any majority vote is to be taken.
Last Thursday, the Public Account Committee took two hours from the sitting debating over why PN members wanted to summon all 84 witnesses on the Electrogas contract investigation.
The investigation is based on a 2018 contractual report by the National Audit Office.
Labour MPs have been pressing the Opposition to adhere to timelines when it comes to deadlines, with Nationalist MPs saying that the committee’s work cannot be forced under a deadline.
