Three hospitalised in two separate early morning accidents

Three people were hospitalised after two separate traffic accidents in the early hours of Sunday morning.

In one accident, police said that at around 2am on Sunday they were informed of a crash in Triq San Gorg in St. Julian’s.

Preliminary investigations showed that the accident was between an e-kick scooter being ridden by a 36-year-old Italian man and a Toyota Corolla being driven by a 24-year-old woman from Birzebbuga.

The scooter rider was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

The second accident happened around 45 minutes later, at 2:45am, in Triq is-Siggiewi in Zebbug.

Preliminary investigations there showed that there had been a crash between a Nissan Qashqai being driven by a 46-year-old man from Mqabba and a Citroen C4 being driven by a 20-year-old man from Birkirkara.

Both drivers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where they were certified as having suffered from grievous injuries.

In both cases, police said that their investigations are ongoing.
