A 62-year-old man was seriously injured in an accident that took place inside a construction site in GHaxaq on Wednesday.

The accident took place in a site in Trejqet ir-Rummiena, at around 12:45pm, the police said.

The casualty, who is from Kirkop, fell from a height of two storeys while working on the site.

He was assisted by members of the Civil Protection Department before he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Magistrate Lara Lanfranco is leading an inquiry. Police investigations are also ongoing.
