Social Care Standards Authority gets new CEO

Lisa Cassar Shaw has been appointed as the new CEO of the Social Care Standards Authority, the government announced Saturday.

The authority regulates standards in homes and care facilities for the elderly.

Cassar Shaw will take on the new role as from Monday, the Ministry for Active Aging said.

Cassar Shaw was born in Fgura, and is married with three children. She has been living in Sliema for the last 21 years after spending her childhood in Marsascala. She is graduated in tourism studies, management and innnovation. She is completing her studies in social sciences.

She used to lecture at the University of Malta and other institutions. For a time she also occupied a managerial position in the family business.

She succeeds Angele Ellul Fenech.
