A worker was grievously injured on Friday morning when he was hit by a metal pipe which was being transported by a fork-lifter, the police said.

The accident took place in a warehouse at the San Gwann industrial estate at 11am.

The worker, a 61-year-old man of Birkirkara, was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
