Alex Perici Calascione has been deemed eligible to contest the post of deputy leader of the Nationalist Party, the PN said in a statement.

The due diligence report on Perici Calascione was presented to the party’s administrative committee on Wednesday.

The party’s election commission has found that Perici Calascione is eligible for the post, and now can officially be nominated for the election.

Perici Calascione was the only contender for the position. The PN will no longer have two deputy leaders.

The party said that a timeframe will be given as to when the nomination can be submitted, following which a date for the election will be established.

It is expected that the process would be over by the end of July.
