A road in Ghajnsielem, Gozo, has been closed to traffic after it partially collapsed.

Photos uploaded by the local council on its Facebook page shows that a chunk of the road caved in, revealing what seems to be a sewer below.

The incident took place in Triq Wied Rgħajjes.

The council said the road will be closed to traffic for the next few days. Motorists should avoid the area to avoid traffic congestion.

It also thanked Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri for offering immediate assitance.
