The Department for Inclusion and Access to Learning within the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta expressed its solidarity with Mr Mario Mallia following “his outrageous dismissal from St Albert The Great College”.

In a statement, the department said that over the years Mr Mallia has cultivated a school culture that is inclusive, democratic and respectful. He successfully created an educational community which is actively committed to promote the principles of social justice and inclusion.

His understanding of inclusion is not one based on pity or assistentialism but a celebration of diversity. The Department for Inclusion and Access to Learning at the University of Malta urges the competent authorities to reinstate Mr Mallia for the benefit of the entire educational community.
