SLIEMA FRANK SALT........... 12

SIRENS MECCA MARINE...... 3

(1-0), (3-1), (3-0), (5-2)

Following last week’s dramatic victory against Neptunes, Sliema Frank Salt registered their fourth consecutive win, this time cruising past Sirens Mecca Marine. Now they have a week preparation for play-off semi-final and wait to find who their opponent will be from today’s showdown between Neptunes Videoslots and San Ġiljan JP Projects.

Certainly, more was expected from Sirens Mecca Marine as they rarely proved to be a worthy opposition. It was surely one of the poorest performances of the summer, especially considering their last performances against the top teams.

Jamie Gambin put Sliema in the lead with a goal from man-up early in the game. Sliema continued to dictate play but had to wait for the second session to find the net, this time from Jayden Cutajar, Jerome Gabarretta and Liam Galea. On the other side, Isaiah Riolo scored the first goal for Sirens after almost two sessions.

Sirens were still in the game, but a reaction was expected from them in the third session. Sliema made sure to kill the game, scoring another three consecutive goals for a 7-1 scoreline. Gabarretta, Benji Cachia and Kieyan Borg scored the goals. Beto Fernandez’s team continued to put goals past the helpless Matthew Bonello Dupuis in the last session for a nine-goal win.
