A Dutchman was grievously injured on Saturday evening after he was hit by a car in Gzira.

The accident took place in Rue d’Argens at around 7pm, the police said.

The man, 21, was hit by a Toyota Corolla that was being driven by a 28-year-old Syrian man from Zebbug.

The casualty was given first aid on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating the case.
