An Italian couple were injured on Saturday in an accident involving a quadbike in Gozo.

The accident took place in Triq San Anard, Victoria, at around 6:30pm, the police said.

The vehicle was being driven by a 29-year-old man. The woman, also 29, was riding on the back. The police said the driver lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a wall.

Both were taken to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. The man’s injuries were classified as slight while the woman suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
