Sunday, 7 August 2022, 14:38 Last update: about 3 years ago

Only 26 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Sunday, the lowest since last year.

The last time fewer cases were reported was when 20 cases were reported on 1 November 2021.

The cases were reported from 706 swab tests.

This has taken the overall figure of cases reported in Malta up to 113,246, with the number of deaths remaining at 795.

Health authorities said that the number of people who have recovered has reached 111,118, while the number of active cases is now 937.

The Health Ministry stopped publishing daily bulletins on social media which show details about the pandemic in Malta the day after the March 2022 general election.

Data is still being published by the Health Ministry's COVID-19 Public Health Response Team on an open source database on the platform GitHub, although certain details such as the number of positive Covid-19 cases in hospital and the details about people who had died are not included in the dataset.
