Elderly man injured in five-car crash

An elderly man was injured when he lost control of a car he was driving and crashed into another vehicle, with both cars then ending up careening into three other parked vehicles.

The accident happened on Friday at 10.15pm in Valley Road, Msida.

The police said the elderly drive, aged 76 of Santa Venera, lost control of the Suzuki Baleno he was driving and crashed into a Peugeot 308 driven by a 34-year-old man of St Paul’s Bay.

The two carts then ended up crashing into three parked vehicles.

The elderly man was taken to hospital with grievous injuries, while the other driver was unhurt.
