Nationalist Party asks Owen Bonnici to publish Palazzo Vilhena contract

Monday, 22 August 2022, 15:36 Last update: about 3 years ago

The Nationalist Party is calling on Minister Owen Bonnici to publish the "mysterious" agreement signed with a private operator to use Palazzo Vilhena in Mdina as a restaurant.

The Nationalist party further said that in the same statement, Bonnici, through Heritage Malta, gave two conflicting versions for the reason for this agreement. He said that this agreement was something that is "done regularly," the PN said, but Bonnici also said that this agreement was signed to establish whether Heritage Malta should issue a public call or lead this initiative, the PN added.

The Nationalist party is demanding that Bonnici publish the contract that was signed between both parties and  gives an account of the income and expenditure made by Heritage Malta through this agreement.

Moreover, the party is asking whether Bonnici is sure about the strategy he is imposing on Heritage Malta after it recorded a loss of €3 million in its third consecutive year.
