A 23-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a bus in a traffic accident in Birkirkara on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said that the accident happened in Mdina Road at around 12:15pm and that the woman had been rushed to hospital by ambulance, where she passed away soon after.

The victim is a 23-year-old Serbian woman who lives in St. Paul’s Bay.

The bus was being driven by a 41-year-old Filipino man who lives in Pieta.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech is leading an inquiry while police investigations are also ongoing.
