The St Paul’s Bay Community Police arrested a 20-year-old English man yesterday, in connection with alleged possession and trafficking of drugs, which was suspected to be cannabis.

The police noticed a Ford Transit vehicle which looked suspicious while patrolling in Wardija at 11.30 am.

The man, who resides at St Paul’s Bay, was stopped by the police in Triq il-Fortizza and was asked for his details, where he started to act suspiciously.

A search was made in the vehicle and a black bag was found with two transparent bags filled with a substance suspected to be cannabis.

The Qawra District Police assisted with the searches carried out in the vehicle where a small scale and several small plastic bags were found. A search at the man’s residence was conducted, where four mobiles and an amount of cash were found.

Police Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace was informed of the discovery and appointed an inquiry, while the man was taken to the police lock-up in Floriana for further investigation.
