A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Victoria on Monday evening, the police said.

The man, aged 62 of Fontana, was hit by a motorbike in Republic Street at 9.30pm.

He was taken to Gozo General Hospital with serious injuries.

The biker, a 38-year-old man from Qala, was unhurt.

Magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry.
