A motorcyclist was hospitalised after a traffic accident in Mdina Road in Birkirkara on Monday afternoon.

The police said that a Kymco Agility motorcycle being ridden by a 24-year-old man from Gzira was involved in a traffic crash with a Mazda Demio being driven by a 72-year-old from Birkirkara at around 3pm on Monday.

The 24-year-old was given medical assistance on site before being transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

He was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
