A 7-year-old boy was grievously injured in a traffic accident on Triq Bir Rikka, Marsaxlokk on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 5.45pm. Preliminary investigations, the police said, found that the boy was hit by a Daelim motorbike ridden by a 39-year-old from Marsaxlokk. The victim was given aid by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
