38 more people have been found living in Malta illegally by police and are set to be deported.

The Police force said in a statement on Sunday that inspections were carried out in St. Paul’s Bay and Bugibba where 38 people were found to be living in Malta illegally.

Police said that these 38 are from Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, and Ghana, and added that they were taken to the police’s headquarters in Floriana where the process for their deportation has been started.

It is unclear whether they will be deported to their home countries or to elsewhere.

Police said that investigations are still ongoing and that these inspections will continue in the coming days and weeks.
