A board has been appointed to investigate sexual harassment claims at the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), a source close to the orchestra have said.
Source said that an employee decided to seek alternative employment and resigned. In the resignation letter, the former employee alleged that she was subject to sexual harassment.
Upon receipt of the letter, a board was appointed according to government policy by the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government to investigate the claim, the source said. The board is expected to hold its first sitting this coming week.
It was also reported by The Shift News that the former employee has filed a criminal complaint with the police detailing the incidents that forced her to resign.
