A 63-year-old Birkirkara resident was seriously injured in an accident on Triq Burmarrad, Mosta.

The accident occurred on Sunday at 7am. The police said that the accident involved a Toyota Vitz, driven by the 63-year old, and a Honda Accord, driven by a 28-year-old Nigerian who resides in St Paul's Bay. The Vitz caught fire after the impact.

The 63-year-old was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and investigations are still ongoing.
