A man is in danger of dying after he was attacked by two individuals in Marsa on Sunday evening, police said.

Police said that they were informed at 7:30pm on Sunday that earlier in the day health authorities had admitted a man to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Investigations showed that the man, who was identified as a 34-year-old from Eritrea who lives in Ta’ Xbiex, was attacked by two people who were armed with a knife in Triq Dicembru Tlettax in Marsa.

The alleged aggressors escaped from the scene of the crime, and a search is underway to find them.

Duty magistrate Victor Axiak is leading an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
