A six-year-old girl suffered grievous injuries after falling out of a window on Sunday afternoon police said in a statement.

Police said that they were informed of the accident at around 2:45pm on Sunday in Triq ix-Xwieki in Gharghur.

Preliminary investigations on site resulted that the girl had fallen around a storey out of a window.

The girl was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where she was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
