A motorcyclist is receiving treatment in hospital after a traffic accident in Mosta earlier on Wednesday.

Police said in a statement that they were informed of a traffic accident in the junction between Triq il-Kbira and Triq Durumblat in Mosta at around 12:45pm.

Preliminary investigations on site showed that a crash had occurred between a Kymco Agility motorcycle being ridden by a 38-year-old man from Pakistan and a Perodua Kelisa being driven by a 21-year-old man from Rabat.

The motorcyclist was given medical assistance on site and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital via ambulance, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that their investigations are ongoing.
