A man was grievously injured after a car crashed into a tractor which he was driving in Gozo on Friday morning.

Police said in a statement that a 29-year-old man from Xewkija was hospitalised after a traffic accident in Triq l-Gharb in Gharb on Friday at 7am.

Preliminary investigations showed that the crash was between a tractor which the man was driving and a Toyota Auris being driven by a 47-year-old woman from San Lawrenz.

The man was given first aid on site and taken by ambulance to Gozo General Hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that their investigations are still ongoing.
