Many roads ended up being flooded this afternoon after heavy rainfall hit parts of the islands.

Low-lying places such as Msida, Qormi, Marsa and Birkirkara were hit, as were newly opened roads including the one at Ghadira.

The extent of the downpour – and how dirty Malta is – could also be seen when the rainwater ended up in the sea, as could be seen in the photo taken in Mellieha.
