Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri told people to be vigilant as a storm is hitting Malta and things will get worse.

In a post on Facebook, the minister made reference to the Kirkop fireworks factor explosion, saying that since the blast the weather has taken a turn for the worse and more is expected.

He said that we should all be more vigilant and take care of each other.

Drivers are warned that a wall has collapsed onto the road in St Julian's, as one is driving down from San Gwann going to the Regional Road (near The Malta Independent offices).

People living in Naxxar, Mosta, Lija and Attard reported that a heavy hailstorm hit their locality.

Flooding has also been reported at The Point shopping mall.

Malta is experiencing thundery weather which is set to last for a few days.

The wind is also expected to pick up in the coming hours.

The Met Office at Malta International Airport has issued an Orange Warning because of “moderate to heavy precipitation with thundery showers”.
