The police said that photos of lost number plates should not be uploaded on the social media.

It has become a habit for people to post photos of number plates of cars which are carried away when there is heavy rain and flooding.

This practice should stop, the police said:

With reference to photos of lost vehicle registration plates following the heavy rainfall, the Malta Police Force would like to remind the general public that whoever lost the registration plate/s of his/her vehicle is requested to file a report at the nearest Police Station.

On the other hand, whoever finds a lost plate/s is bound to take or contact the nearest Police Station so the rightful owner can be traced and contacted and one shall avoid posting photos of lost number plates on social media.
