Woman seriously injured in Qormi residence fire

A woman was seriously injured after a fire broke out in her home in Qormi on Thursday evening.

The police said that the accident took place in a residence in Triq l-Ahwa Zammit at 9.15pm.

A 41-year-old man managed to leave the building on his own, but the woman, aged 64, needed the assistance of the CPD personnel.

The man was not hurt, but the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry.
