The Health Ministry has denied a Net News report that a patient has died in a corridor at the Mater Dei emergency department after his medical file could not be located.
This is a misleading report, the ministry said, as any treatment procedures are not stopped or postponed if the person’s file cannot be retrieved.
The ministry condemned fictitious reporting aimed to create alarm and throw bad light on the staff at the hospital.
Early on Saturday, the PN’s media portal reported that “reliable sources” had told them that hours earlier, a patient had died in the Emergency corridors due to the Government’s lack of implementation of a computerised filing system.
