A wall next to the entrance to the Cittadella ditch has collapsed.

Malta is experiencing strong winds as a result of storm Helios that has been battering the Maltese islands.

A yellow warning issued by the Met Office is currently in effect.

The Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Gozo Ministry said that the ditch is closed to the public for a few days, until it is ensured that there is no danger.

"We would also like to inform the public that some of the masonry walls at the perimeter of the inner ruins have collapsed and therefore we ask the public to be vigilant."
