Barracudas Sports Club, Malta's only amateur water polo team, are delighted to announce the signing of Ivan Gusarov and Radovan Latinovic as their two foreign players for this summer's national water polo competition. The players will be a significant addition to the team's talent pool and will expand the local players' breadth of water polo experience.
Edmond Bartolo, President of Barracudas Sports Club, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Ivan and Radovan to the Barracudas family. Their international experience will be invaluable to us and will help our players get significant first-hand knowledge of the game."
Ivan Gusarov, who has played water polo in Russia, Greece, Serbia and Hungary, said: "I'm excited to join Barracudas and play in Malta. Coming to Malta offers me an opportunity to play in yet another country. I'm really looking forward to this new experience and to helping Barracudas continue to improve."
Radovan Latinovic, a seasoned player who has experience in playing in seven different countries, said: "I've always wanted to play in Malta, as I've heard a lot of good things about water polo on this island. This summer will be an exciting one for water polo enthusiasts as the renowned league will have many international players. I seek to represent Barracudas in the best possible way both in and off the pool."
Keith Scott Grima, Head Coach of Barracudas, said: "The addition of Ivan and Radovan to our roster is a huge boost for our team. Their skill set and international experience will complement the talents of our existing young players and help us reach new heights on the field. I can't wait to see the impact they will have and how they will contribute to the growth and success of Barracudas."

Founded in 1977, Barracudas Sports Club is situated in the Tal-Veċċa area in St. Paul's Bay. In 1991, its senior water polo team won the Second Division league and, in the following years, competed against the top division giants Sliema, Neptunes, Sirens, and San Ġiljan. After a hiatus of competitive activity due to a lack of resources, in which the club continued to promote water polo for people with a busy schedule who couldn't afford to train every day, the team returned to the National Water Polo Championships in 2022 as the only amateur team in the league. The team trains at the National Pool except for a few sessions in the summer period when players return to train at the club's own water polo pitch in St. Paul's Bay.
