The Maltese national waterpolo team beat Ukraine 11-6 to notch their first win at the World Cup Group B tournament in Romania on Friday
Malta had a splendid start to the game, going 4-0 up by the end of the first session with two goals each from Ben Plumpton and Jake Muscat.
The Maltese remained on top in the second session, leading 6-3 by the change of ends with goals from Liam Galea and Plumpton.
Goals from Nikolai Zammit and Ben Cachia saw Malta take an 8-3 lead in the third quarter..
Jayden Cutajar, Alec Fenech and Nikolai Zammit completed the victory
