A 21-year-old man from Dingli was charged Friday in connection with a road rage incident in Xemxija on Thursday.

Inspector Christian Cauchi arraigned Adam Zammit Soler before magistrate Astrid May Grima.

Zammit Soler was charged grievously injuring a woman and slightly injuring a man following a traffic accident in Xemxija.

A video of the incident was uploaded to Facebook yesterday by independent candidate Arnold Cassola, but was later taken down.

The fight is understood to have broken out because the victim’s car had allegedly hit a wing mirror on the accused's vehicle.

Zammit Soler pleaded not guilty to the charges. His defence lawyers, Nicholas Mifsud and Robert Gauci Maestre, requested the defendant be released on bail.

After hearing both sides’ submissions on bail, the court upheld the defence’s request, with the defendant being released from arrest and ordered not to approach or contact the alleged victims, against a deposit of €5,000 and a personal guarantee of €10,000.

Zammit Soler was also ordered to sign a bail book every day and observe a curfew. A protection order was issued in favour of the alleged victims.
