A man was grievously injured on Sunday morning after he was hit by a car.

The police said the accident took place in Sa Maison Road, Floriana, at 8.30am.

The pedestrian, an Austrian aged 55, was hit by a Toyota Auris driven by an Italian man, aged 49, who resides in St Paul’s Bay.

The Austrian was taken to hospital with grievous injuries
