People must always remain at the centre of policies, PN Leader Bernard Grech said on the occasion of Europe day.

In reflecting on how 20 years ago the nation voted 'YES' for Malta to become part of the European Union, he said that in doing so it "recognizing the shared values between our country and the European Union."

Grech said that the European Union has grown, and played a significant role in Malta's success story as a member state.

We should remember the importance of placing people at the center of politics, he said. "This is a principle that the Nationalist Party has always adhered to, where the focus is always on the Maltese and Gozitans at the heart of decision-making."

In his statement, Bernard Grech stated that "Malta remains at the center of European politics with its people in mind". He added that this is an important reminder that the policies and decisions made at the European level have a direct impact on the lives of the people, and that the country must continue to be an active participant in shaping the future of Europe.
