The Public Accounts Committee has summoned Yorgen Fenech to appear before it during the next sitting and testify during its examination of the Auditor General's report relating to the contracts awarded to Electrogas by the Enemalta Corporation.
During Tuesday's PAC sitting, the committee's Chairman, Darren Carabott, said that the Opposition was putting forward its request for Yorgen fenech to testify in the next sitting. There was no objection.
Fenech stands charged with being a mastermind in the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and is denying the charges. Since Fenech is currently held at the Corradino Correctional Facility, the PAC will notify the Director of Prisons.
Fenech was one of the Electrogas directors, and according to the Malta Business Registry resigned from the role in November 2019. His resignation came after his arrest in connection to the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia. Fenech is still a shareholder in the company.
