A man is in danger of dying after he lost consciousness in a well in Attard on Sunday morning.
Police said that their assistance was requested at around 11:15am after a man lost consciousness inside a well in a field in the Tal-Hofra area of Attard on Sunday.
Police went on site along with a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department, and work began to rescue the man.
Preliminary investigations showed that the man – whose identity is still not known – was working inside the well and inhaled toxic gasses which resulted in him losing consciousness.
The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where he was certified as being in serious condition.
Duty magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry, while the police and the OHSA are also carrying out their own investigations.
