An elderly man was seriously injured when the bike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car in Ghaxaq on Thursday.

The accident took place in Dawret Hal Ghaxaq at 1pm.

The biker, aged 79 of Ghaxaq, was involved in a collision with a Mazda Demio driven by a 41-year-old woman, also of Ghaxaq.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Victor Axiaq is leading an inquiry.
