SAN ĠILJAN JP PROJECTS..... 24

MARSAXLOKK BROWN’S...... 9

(7-1), (6-4), (6-1), (5-3)

San Ġiljan JP Projects kept their goal scoring record on a high as they easily swept aside Marsaxlokk Brown’s. Both Aaron Younger and Maro Jokovic returned in the squad after missing San Ġiljan’s last game against Barracudas. Marsaxlokk were coming from a good draw against Marsaskala.

The goal bonanza by San Ġiljan started midway through the first session with goals from Ben Plumpton and Jake Bonavia. Nikola Moscov reduced the margin but this goal seemed to stimulate San Ġiljan as in half a session they scored five times without reply.

After Nikolai Zammit’s goal in the beginning of the second session, Marsaxlokk made a reaction and cut the deficit by almost half to 8-4. In reality it ended making no difference as San Ġiljan stepped their foot on the pedal and ended the session 13-5.

Despite the ongoing rotation by Zeljko Kovacic, San Ġiljan continued to control the game with ease and scored another six goals in the third session, half of them by Nikolai Zammit, a brace by Jake Bonavia while Aaron Younger scored the other goal. At this point it was damage limitation the only game plan for Marsaxlokk. Despite their opponents winning also the last session, they managed to score three time through Sasa Misic, Julian Valletta and Cain Cutajar.

They scored twice in their first few attacks and despite that Ivan Nagaev reduced the margin, Filip Filipovic and Stevie Camilleri scored again to open up a 4-1 lead before half a session had passed. Camilleri added another one right before the end of the session.

Dorian Pisani’s team had the control of the game even after Jayden Cassar scored the second goal for Valletta. They stretched their lead gradually with goal from Jake Muscat, Aleksandar Ivovic and Sam Gialanze for an 8-2 scoreline.

Valletta scored the first for the second consecutive session but it didn’t make a difference for Neptunes. Four goals from four different players enlarged the margin to 11-3.
