NEPTUNES VIDEOSLOTS VALLETTA IZIBET 25-8 (9-0), (9-1), (2-3), (5-4)

It was probably easier than expected for Neptunes Videoslots. They were ruthless in the first two sessions and left Valletta helpless, although the latter could have been more compact and careful in their play. Filip Filipovic returned in the team after missing the loss against Sliema in midweek.

Neptunes scored an impressive nine goals in the first session, converted one of their two man-up occasions and didn’t concede a man-up to their opponents. Stevie Camilleri and Filip Filipovic both scored twice.

The second session continued on the same rhythm and it was the turn of Jake Muscat, Sam Gialanze and Alec Fenech to all score two goals in a session. Valletta scored the first goal in the middle of the session through Ivan Nagaev after 13 goals by Neptunes.

The third and fourth sessions gave the opportunity for Valletta to limit the damage already inflicted.

The ongoing rotation by Neptunes’ coach Dorian Pisani continued till the last moments of the game as Neptunes controlled with ease, giving also the joy to youngster Andreas Fava to score late in the game.

SAN ĠILJAN JP PROJECTS - SIRENS 17-11 (4-3), (6-1), (3-2), (4-5)

Champions San Ġiljan JP Projects extended their winning streak. Although the final result might give a different conclusion to the game’s story, in reality San Ġiljan were too powerful and Sirens only reduced the margin when San Ġiljan stepped their foot off the pedal.

Aaron Younger had to step in during the first session to first give them the lead for the first time and after Matyas Pasztor equalised, scored again to give his team a 4-3 lead. San Ġiljan expressed their best performance in the second session and found the net five consecutive times to take a comfortable 10-4 lead heading into the third session.

As if the gap wasn’t already difficult for Sirens to recover, Younger, Maro Jokovic and Nikolai Zammit made it impossible for Marko Orlovic’s team to recover with another three goals. Sirens responded with two goals in the third session and another two goals in the beginning of the last session to reduce the gap to 13-8.

Nicholas Bugelli and Nikolai Zammit interrupted the goal streak by Sirens until Jake Cachia and a brace by Pietro Figlioli brought Sirens four goals adrift of their opponents. San Ġiljan made sure to win by a bigger margin with two goals late in the game.
