Waterpolo: Sliema record their fourth consecutive win

SLIEMA FRANK SALT - SIRENS 9-6

(1-1), (3-1), (3-2), (2-2)

Sliema Frank Salt continued their positive form as they defeated Sirens. It was a more balanced affair than the previous win by Sliema against Sirens earlier in the season but still Dejan Savic’s team deserved the three points.

Serbian Andrija Prlainovic put Sliema in the lead but midway through the first session Matthias Azzopardi equalised.

Matyas Pasztor put Sirens ahead in the beginning of the second session but Sliema reacted and scored three consecutive goals. Prlainovic scored from man-up and Dmitrii Kholod scored twice to give his team a 4-2 lead.

Sliema had an aim to try and kill the game in the third session but Sirens resisted and scored twice after their opponents had extended the lead partially to three goals.

But Jamie Gambin’s goal from man-up proved to be important as Sliema started the last session 7-4 in front.

Pasztor gave a lifeline to Sirens as he scored from man-up and despite that he responded again after Prlainovic’s third goal of the game, Sirens couldn’t come at least a goal adrift. Liam Galea rounded the win with a goal in the last minute.
