A man was seriously injured when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a pole, the police said Thursday.

The accident happened at 12.15am in Labour Avenue, Zejtun.

The man, a 39-year-old Zejtun resident, lost control of the Mazda Demio he was driving and crashed.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Victor Axiaq is leading an inquiry.
