A minibus has caught fire whilst it was being driven on Triq Louis Wettinger, known as the Mellieha by-pass, in Mellieha.

A police spokesperson told The Malta Independent that it was informed about the incident at 10:30am on Tuesday.

The Civil Protection Department went on site and controlled the fire. Nobody was injured in the incident.

The road has been re-opened for traffic after CPD controlled the fire and removed the vehicle, the police spokesperson said.
