A man was grievously injured after he was hit by a car in Luqa on Friday morning, the police said.

The accident took place in Aviation Avenue at 11am.

The pedestrian, a 33-year-old from Birkirkara, was hit by a Toyota Duet driven by a 49-year-old woman of Msida.

He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
